about

I've been writing songs for years; most of which never left the basements, backyards, and bedrooms they were created in. These songs were written as scribbles in nightstand notebooks and preserved as voices memos; only ever heard muffled through walls by neighbors or through an open window by a stranger strolling along.

I wanted them to be heard how I've repeatedly played them: behind closed doors, uninhibited as if no one is listening. Everything you hear is natural; guitar and vocal were recorded together, the actual reverb of the space I was in...not as a performance, but a release. I hope you feel as if you're sitting nearby, listening to me play as I always have...raw, protected by an imaginary shelter of open fields or walls and chanced upon by ears I didn't believe were listening.
